It was John Wayne who said, “Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway.” The greatest obstacle to success is fear: fear of failure, fear of “never getting there despite having done all,” and fear that others would prefer someone better than you. This fear is called rejection. As legitimate as those fears may be, they are the weights that beset your progress toward monumental success.
MLK Jr.’s quote on motion, “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward,” made me realize that I may not always be able to fly. Sometimes, all I can do in a given season is crawl. But one thing is certain: stagnation is not an option. For me, there is no other choice but success.
